Happy Monday everyone! Can you belive Christmas is just 2 weeks away?!? I can hardly contain my excitement! As I mentioned last week, my mom has been in town visiting 🙂 We have had the BEST time celebrating the holidays with her since we are unable to be together on Christmas. I honestly think the first moment we have taken to rest is right now as I am writing this post! While she has been here we have done so many fun things including a photoshoot that will be featured on the blog in the coming week, so stay tuned!
Speaking of my mama, when I was just a little girl, she took me to see The Nutcracker Ballet performance around Christmas time. I remember being so in awe of all the beautiful ballerinas. She even still has the keepsake ornaments we bought at the ballet.
Last year, on Christmas I opened a gift from William. It was this beautiful nutcrakcer! I absolutley loved it because it has all of my favorite colors (navy, red and gold) and I also love how tall it is! My next gift from him was a Little Golden Books The Nutcracker. After the second gift I was kind of sensing a theme! The final gift I opened were tickets to see The Nutcracker at The Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. We went a few days after Christmas and it was one of my absolute favorite dates. I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time!!
Flash forward to this year… There are 2 things I love more than almost anything: I love sentimental gifts and I also love traditions.
Once we planned my mamas trip to come and visit for the holidays I just knew we had to go to the ballet! It would be sentimental since she took me as a little girl and it would be a continued tradition from last year! So I bought tickets at The Broward Center for The Nutcracker featuring the Miami City Ballet. She had no idea we were going until the night before! We had an absolute blast. I had gotten us box seats which was such a fun experience. We honestly felt like little girls leaning on the ledge “ooing and ahhing” at the performance! We also kept saying how fun it will be to take my little girl there one day and continue the tradition! It was a night that both of us will most definitley never forget!
Here are some photos from our sweet evening!
Have you been to a Nutcracker Ballet perfomance?! If not, do you have a similar tradition? Leave me a comment below, I would love to hear!
As always, thank you for reading! Have a fabulous day 🙂
