I had originally made the recipe I am about to share with you for dinner but we ended up stopping at Whole Foods for some salads instead. Soooo we will be having this yummy meal for dinner tonight and I am so excited to give you the details!
Now.. you may be a little surprised when I give you the recipe. This will, in fact, be the EASIEST meal you may ever make… like easier than Mac N’ Cheese! And the best part?! It will be ready for you when you get home from work!! My mama shared this one with me after she made it up one day and it has become my go-to if I won’t have much time after work to prep a big meal!
Mama Lambert’s Spicy Shredded Chicken:
- 1 Package of Chicken Breasts (you can sub turkey tenderloins if you prefer, that is what I used this go around!)
- Your Choice of Louisianna Hot Sauce, Cholula (if want really spicy chicken), or Red Hot Wings Buffalo Sauce (for more of a buffalo chicken flavor)
1.Wash and pat dry your meat of choice
2.Place in a crockpot
3.Pour your sauce of choice over the meat (enough to cover the meat)
4.I have cooked 2 different ways and they both work great, it just depends on how much time you have
– Cook on high for 5 hours
– or Cook on low for 7
5.Once finished take 2 forks and shred the chicken
6.Remove from crock pot and serve!
- Use the chicken in a salad
- Make sandwiches with Haiwaan Roll Buns
- Put in soup
- Use in tacos on tortillas
I am telling you, the opportunities to dress this dish up or down are endless! You can make it on game day or prepare for your in-laws, either way, it is sure to be a crowd pleaser!
